This is a draft covering the free beta phase, not a legally reviewed document. It will be replaced with a reviewed version before paid founding member plans start. Questions? patrick@leafwiki.com.

1. Who this applies to

These terms cover LeafWiki Hosted, the managed version of LeafWiki operated by socradev GmbH (see Imprint). They don't apply to the open source LeafWiki software itself, which is covered by its own MIT license.

2. The free beta

The beta is free. There's no payment during the beta, and no automatic charge when it ends. Beta spots are limited and offered on a first-come basis. Because it's a beta, features may change, break, or get removed based on what we learn โ€” that's the point of running one.

3. Your content

Your wiki content stays yours. It's stored as plain Markdown files, and you can export a full ZIP of your wiki at any time, during the beta or after. If you cancel or your account is closed, you keep the right to export your content beforehand.

4. Data and hosting

Servers are located in the EU. Backups are taken daily. We don't sell or share your content with third parties. A separate privacy policy covering data protection details is planned before the paid launch.

5. After the beta

Founding member pricing (see /hosted/) applies once the beta ends and you choose to continue on a paid plan. Nobody is charged automatically โ€” moving from beta to a paid plan requires your active confirmation.

6. No warranty, limited liability

The service is provided as-is, especially during the beta. socradev GmbH is not liable for data loss, downtime, or damages beyond what's required by mandatory Austrian law. Nothing here limits liability for intent or gross negligence.

7. Ending the service

You can stop using the service and request account deletion at any time. socradev GmbH may discontinue the beta or the hosted service with reasonable notice, giving you time to export your content first.

8. Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the product moves from beta to paid launch. Material changes will be communicated to active users before they take effect.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Austrian law. socradev GmbH is based in Vienna, Austria (see Imprint for full company details).
